Who We Are
Founder Story
I started Smarter Practice AI after years of watching my wife — a dentist and small business owner — carry the constant weight of staffing struggles, insurance battles, and daily practice stress.
I’ve seen firsthand the difficulties of running a dental practice and being a small business owner — wearing every hat at once. Dentists are forced to act as CFO (finance), CMO (marketing), CIO (technology), and COO (operations). They’re writing operations manuals and HR guides, running HIPAA training, troubleshooting IT issues, training staff on Dentrix or EagleSoft, negotiating fees, trying to inspire their team, and building consistent messaging with staff and patients — all while struggling to think strategically, keep the lights on, and still deliver the best possible dentistry.
Being a dentist often means a lifetime pursuit of knowledge and constantly trying to up your game. I know there are plenty of well-qualified (and well-compensated) consultants, books, coaches, podcasts, and programs — but the real challenge is getting the right expertise, to the right person, at the right time.
As we began testing and implementing AI in my own team, it became clear how transformative this can be — if done correctly. Corporate leaders, including DSOs, already know this and are rushing to adopt these solutions. But I’ve also seen firsthand that simply giving people access isn’t enough. Without structure and guidance, most teams don’t know where to start, or they stop at using these tools as nothing more than a high-powered email coach.
Done the right way, these tools can raise the IQ of your entire team and transform the way you work.
Before launching Smarter Practice AI, I led a global cybersecurity team at one of the world’s largest law firms. I saw how the right systems could transform organizations — but also how overwhelming change can feel without clear guidance. Smarter Practice AI is my way of bringing that experience to dentistry — helping independent practices build stronger, more resilient teams and thrive in a challenging industry.

Mission
Our mission is to give independent dental practices more than just a level playing field — let’s tilt the advantage in our favor. By combining the adoption of once-in-a-lifetime technology with practical implementation, we can do it better, faster, and with greater impact on the dental industry than corporate competitors — while building a community of independent dentists who share knowledge, support each other, and grow stronger together.
